After hearing all the news about Mo Farrah, this place raised a chuckle when I drove past it today:

The showjumping in the modern pentathlon is nuts. All the competitors get a random horse, and after only spending 20 mins with the horse, they are expected to jump the course.

You certainly see some interesting 'rounds'.

GB finish with 65 medals after getting a silver in the women's modern pentathlon.

Now for the Closing Ceremony...

The 16 days have flown by...

I want Daldry to deliver a menu of cheese and more cheese for the Closing Ceremony later.  Chas'n'Dave as the headline act (they have reformed, after Dave's wife passed away a few years ago).  Or, failing that, a chorus of 'Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner'.  Sod the rest of the world.  This is our party!

It's been an absolutely fantastic 16 days and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.  Certain moments really will be hard to forget.  Team GB has totally exceeded all expectations and the support from the crowds whatever the event was immense.  It's really put a feel good factor into Great Britain.

Interestingly the people that were moaning about the cost etc went remarkably quiet after the first few days.

I feel really quite sad it's over and am not sure what I'm going to do with myself now.  Good job the football season starts next weekend  Cheesy

What a brilliant couple of weeks.
Britain totally delivered a top Olympic experience.  2 weeks of being glued to the TV are about to end - as well as watching every minute of the athletics, which I always knew I would, I've enjoyed watching nearly every sport available - the 24 channels on the BBC have been ace.
I'm so glad I decided to go for tickets last year; the buzz of being in and around the venues and just in Central London was some experience.
And to top it all we've by far exceeded our 19 gold medals in Beijing which I'd thought was over-achieving.
I'm currently really tempted to splash out on a trip to Rio come 2016.

I've had the last couple of weeks off which was a coincidencea dn not planned for the event. Didn't go away this summer so i've had the olympics on virtually all the time barring the odd day out. It's been superb

If the Spice Girls are to sing at the Closing Ceremony, can someone please make sure they turn off Posh's microphone?!

Thanks.

I'm so glad I decided to go for tickets last year; the buzz of being in and around the venues and just in Central London was some experience.

Didn't think Britain would really care that much, but once the crowds came out for the torch relay it was clear I was totally wrong.

So glad I managed to get tickets for an Olympic Park event. Didn't see a sad face all day. Everyone was smiling. And that says it all.

Plus I now have a new sport to watch - handball. Before I looked it up I thought it was like a shit version of squash without a racquet!

Now to try for some Paralympic tickets.
