Yeah absolutely. Unless it's a fully acoustic/Acapella set then he's better outside but I think he's moving more towards becoming a full band rather than a pure solo artist.
In other news, I might be off to see John Cooper-Clarke in 'Ull sometime in November!

Got myself tickets for The Dear Hunter in September at the Exchange Bristol, I was hoping to see them at the Joiners in Southampton but Exchange will have to do as Joiners is sold out. First gig for me since 2019 I think.
Was going to see Don Broco as well but the tickets are nigh on £40/pop, fucking O2 venues.

Absolutely brilliant band (The Dear Hunter). One of my very favourite discoveries over the last few years.

Got some rough live recordings up on my band Soundcloud now. The last two tracks (So I've Been Told and Graveyard Inn) probably the picks of the bunch. We're playing the My Dad'd Bigger Than Your Dad charity gig for Dave Young and also the Swindon Shuffle again this year. Cheers. https://soundcloud.com/bambamandthethud

Oh no doubt but I've yet to go to an 02 venue that didn't make anyone sound like I was listening to them on the bus through someone else's fucking shite headphones. So the cheek to charge £40 is one thing, to charge it for an 02 venue is a whole 'nother level of shittery. Went to see Editors at 02 Southampton a few years ago, I was about as livid as the guy running the sounddesk, had a quick chat with him at interval as he was dropping some proper expletives during the first half (I try and get right in front of the desk when I can), said it was the worst sound system he'd ever had to deal with. I swear every lyric buzzed the speakers, appalling.

Went to Wilderness Festival and saw Jamie XX, Bicep, Rodigan and the Outlook Orchestra (pap), and a load of others. Decent festival.

Just got back from my dad's bigger than yours. Really like Gaz Brookfield who was very good. Very impressed with slaggerij. Also loved boys from county hell but I'm a sucker for a bit of the pogues. A good day out. First live music for me for 18 months. Some very pissed people there. Got oysterband lined up in Bristol next month. Fairport convention in Stroud in October and Waterboys at meca in Swindon in October. Looking forward to live music again. May well do hawkwind at meca and Steve Harley at wyvern soon.
