Well done club. Title: Re: Tommy Wright Post by: Power to people on Friday, January 17, 2020, 15:57:37 Given 12 months suspended. The club has said his employment will continue. Well done club. Does it not depend if the FL / FA now get involved though Title: Re: Tommy Wright Post by: tans on Friday, January 17, 2020, 16:10:00 the FA didnt even suspend him from football whilst the case was ongoing, i wiuld imagine he will be ok.
If he does get banned or something, just put a wig on him and change his name to someone else by deed poll ;) Title: Re: Tommy Wright Post by: The Artist Formerly Known as Audrey on Friday, January 17, 2020, 16:14:53 Isn’t Donohue up before the beak today?
Title: Re: Tommy Wright Post by: Power to people on Friday, January 17, 2020, 16:17:40 Isn’t Donohue up before the beak today? Wasn't it just a pre-trial not the actual trial Title: Re: Tommy Wright Post by: Flashheart on Friday, January 17, 2020, 16:18:58 Apparently he declared tax on the money. So he must have thought what he did was OK at the time?
Title: Re: Tommy Wright Post by: horlock07 on Friday, January 17, 2020, 16:26:22 Would have a horrific irony if the FA kicked off when you consider who they feel is 'fit and proper'?

Yes it does suggest that not sure why there is no mention of Donohue though.Title: Re: Tommy Wright Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, January 17, 2020, 17:33:58 https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/18169517.dion-donohue-admits-mansfield-affray-gbh/

It's a bit of a coincidence that Wellens has gone quiet on Donohue just when we need him most but can't see it happening now as he's pleaded guilty and will appear at Leicester crown court in March Title: Re: Tommy Wright Post by: Peter Venkman on Friday, January 17, 2020, 17:53:37 It's a bit of a coincidence that Wellens has gone quiet on Donohue just when we need him most! He said last week pre game that we hadn't signed him because of a fitness issue. More likely he was waiting the outcome of the trial IMO.Title: Re: Tommy Wright Post by: horlock07 on Monday, January 20, 2020, 10:05:39 https://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/news/18169517.dion-donohue-admits-mansfield-affray-gbh/ Well there you go, no idea if he will go down although understandable why the club were loathe to sign him, albeit could they not do a month by month? Rather embarrassing in that story that the Advertiser don't know or couldn't be arsed to work out who the member of the coaching staff is in the picture? Title: Re: Tommy Wright Post by: OOH! Be amazed if there is a sports section in 2 years time or even a paper Can be bothered to look for it now, but I am sure that the head sportswriter on the Adver's Twitter bio suggests he is a freelancer? Title: Re: Tommy Wright Post by: Flashheart on Monday, January 20, 2020, 11:28:55 They've been slowly dying for a long time now. That much was clear when they started using sensationalist headlines; a tabloid-esque style used to inflame and sell.

I don't know for sure, but I'd imagine to compensate for the abysmal pay, benefits and overtime he's allowed to freelance for other organisations. Local print media as we know it is dying a very slow, very painful death, drawn out by all concerned. The model needs to change. |
