A big 'well done' to those involved with the snow clearance today. Yet I find one aspect slightly puzzling, if not annoying. Much has been said recently with regard to the club engaging with the local community and, at the same time, attempting to attract younger supporters. Lo and behold, we find kids from Marlborough College (10 miles away and with no local affiliation) clearing our pitch while Swindon kids don't get involved. Any ideas ?

Are you missing the point ? I would have preferred that Swindon school kids were involved with their local club rather than distant 11-18 year old public school kids who probably live in London, Scotland etc.

If they had cleared the pitch they could have been the Marlboro 100(s)

There we have it then. The pupils from Marlborough Colledge were actually teachers and dinner ladies in disguise. The Adver geezer got suspicious after noticing several tall people wearing shorts, carrying hockey sticks and chanting ''tally ho, let's go, there's only one Charles Awstin innit''.
