What this shows is that without Chorley Garner knows fuck all about recruitment so is going for what he does know.

Why weren't they snapped up by league one clubs last summer then?
Louis Reed has over 100 app's in league one, was part of a promotion winning side and was on trial at Doncaster last summer. How we got him I still have no idea, but you're kidding yourself if you think he doesn't belong at that level.

JoJo was a bloody good keeper. Surely no one can disagree with that. I'm all for putting on a brave face but, come on he'll be a big loss.Well,in my opinion.
I personally think he will go on to be like Vigaroux, a good lower league keeper

Disaster if Payne doesn't sign and Charlton manage to get Reed.
Garner's a cock.

This reeks of the summer Anderson and Yates went to Blackpool and Grant was rumoured to be going.
Jack Payne is a London boy too which doesn't help. I feel if Charlton want him, it's inevitable.
Shade was a good signing, and this keeper seems okay but the club still need that massive lift and Payne signing a new deal could give us that.

Reed is under contract. If Charlton want him at least they will have to pay a transfer fee.

I'd rather keep Reed than Payne. Garner not being interested in Payne tells you all you need to know about how good he thinks he is.
Reed will be very very difficult to replace at this level. Just hope we get a decent fee.

If their aim is promotion I wouldn't think the Charlton hierarchy would look to kindly on their manager bringing in 4 players from a League 2 side that failed to get promotion..... Would think the fans would be even more unhappy.....

They will but then I start to worry about the terms of the contract. For me, part of the reason we might have attracted Reed and Williams to 2 year deals is because they have a relatively easy get out clause. I hope I'm wrong but I have a feeling Reed could be sold a lot cheaper than a lot of people think.

Without meaning to come across twatish to you I don't really care about what happens to Garner, Charlton or their fans. It's the major blow to us I worry about. I'd probably go as far as saying if we sell Reed i'd use his wages to give Payne whatever he wants to stay. To lose both leaves our promotion hopes in tatters before a ball is even kicked i'd say.

I think buying the best players from the league below alongside some established league one players is a sound strategy.

I think there’s a reason the club didn’t make a big song and dance re. those two renewals and I expect it’s because they were on our terms rather than the players’...

Quite frankly I’d just tell Garner / Charlton to fucking do one out of principal…
(unless there is a release clause)

Was their stand out player first half when we beat them 5-0 at home. First half he tore into us down the left and put in a few decent crosses. Looked to have some pace as well. Pleasing a 2 year deal as adds excitement, expectation and above all time to develop.
Thought the same in both games against Walsall - I'm excited about this! Think its a really good signing. Thought it might have been a loan to begin with, but a 2 year deal - Awesome!
