Try and keep all this old stuff on this thread from now on mods.
From an old Sheff Utd v Swindon prog.

The first competitive match the Blades had v Town was the cup tie in 1908 drawn at the County Ground.
The County Ground was being upsized so the board asked if the game could could switched to Sheffields ground...the blades agreed but Town demanded £500 minumum gate money...United were stunned and rejected so the match was played at Swindon...admission was a shilling...a reserved seat 3 shillings..
Town were just becoming a force in the game and the the then Sheffield secretary reported that Fleming was full of Dash and Energy...how we would like him in our team.
The Sheffield team were overjoyed at a goal less draw...but Swindon swept the Sheffield team aside with a 2-0 win in the replay with many taking advantage of cheap rail travel there to see it....just one small perk of life inside the railways.
Lets hope 102 years on we an take care of Fulham and go on a great cup run.
