I'm not sure, Poyet seems to love the place more than Wise. He always seems really happy in interviews.

Can't really see him staying though.

The fact that the statements refer to both suggest more than just a passing interest from Leeds.  To go for an assistant at the same time suggests it's part of the deal to get Wise, otherwise they'd appoint Wise and then discuss the assistants job afterwards.  It's the on thing that made it look a dead cert for me that Wise would eventually go.  Poyet returned from Uruguay to work with him, I'd reckon he'll want to stick around with him a little longer than 4 months.

Knowing our board the compensation package agreed is,

"Best endeavours to provide a signed Alan Smith shirt"

Well, 300K compo, + 300K off the wage bill  (Wise and Gus) + Paul Ince off the wagebill and players out on loan must surely add up to nearly £750k musn't it?

That would seem to make sense Batch, but the question is, does this £750 overspend relate to Management wages?! or is it simply on other things?  I.e. Have we already ACTUALLY spent £750K too much or was that a predicted overspend if the season panned out as expected?!
If thats the case and its just predicted then that has to be the only up point in this whole shambles that we must surely of cleared almost all if not the lot of the overspend?!

Then again we still have the same people running the club so I wouldnt be surprised if somehow even if we got £1m it still didnt cover it!!!
they'll find a way of messing the accounts up im sure of it!

It was a projected overspend based on commitments for the coming season - i.e if we went up as Champions etc.

The compo plus the saving on wages may well reduce or clear it completely.

Next question is do the Board spend it again?  To do so makes absolute sense to make sure we continue where we are.  It also suggests Devlin was in fact right to do whatever he has done over the summer if the Board then go and re commit the money.

I hope they swallow pride and go with it.  Makes everything seem a little more bitter tasted to me, but it gets the club moving again.
