It's only a matter of time before a new football game blows proev out the water. They seem to have a life span. Kick off was the best football game, then sensi for ages, then fifa, and now for a while proev. Someone needs to release a football game that expands the genre. There's only so much you can take the current crop of 3d, but not much more interesting than isometric, football games.

But PES has been dominant for 7 years now and before that Konami's ISS series way back to the snes, which is where PES evolved from, it's practically the same series. The last good fifa game was '95. Arguably '98 Road to the World Cup. A few other good titles cropped up. Obviously Sensible Soccer, Kick Off, World Cup Striker and Actua Soccer 2 wasn't a bad game...

The new Fifa has improved a lot since the last one. It's still not as good as Pro Evo though. It's just typical Fifa still.

i quite like the fifa series, always have done.
pro evo is undoubtedly better but i really don't understand the 'pro evo r00lz, fifa suxxxxx' attitude

I used to like the FIFA series until they started concentrating on the lovely kits and stadium rather than the gameplay which has gone downhill IMO.
After buying the absolute dross of FIFA 07' last year i won't be rushing to get the latest one.

The only thing i will say is that the gameplay on the new fifa has improved but it's still behind pro evo. I do think the new pro evo is a bit more "fifa like" though which is worrying.

I'm getting FIFA Manager 2008 next week just so I can build a triple decker on the Town End - I'll post a screen shot. Doesn't really matter what footy game (other than management ones) I play as I'm shite at them all

fifa is poo, traded it in for this on friday.
i hate the master league players, they are so SHIT. 2nd season in and i've got an entirely new starting XI, and 4 or 5 new players in the subs and reserves. so fucking frustrating, but i love it!
