Carlisle pretty much wrapped up the league 2 championship last night meaning they won't be pressing for a victory against Stockport on Saturday. Torquay should get a win against Boston, same as for Notts County v Bury, which leaves Barnet away at already relegated R&D and Macclesfield away at Rovers, which could be Oxford's only lifeline.

They have to win to stay up don't they?

If I wasn't cricketing I'd blag a ticket for the away end  8)

Yep they have to beat Leyton Orient and hope that Torquay, Barnet, Stockport and Notts County don't win.  Macclesfield should get away with a draw, as Oxford, hopefully won't win by more than one goal.

its not a case of any other results going our way, we just have to win to stay up because two of the teams down near the bottom are playing each other.

if we win we're up. anything else and we're down.

Haven't Orient already sold one whole stand for Saturday?  Leaving only 2 for the home fans to use, unless they are pulling the boards down and having a drive in football ground at one end.

I can't really help but feel a tiny bit sorry for oxford......waits for alot of abuse. I can't imagine what it would feel like it town dropped into the conference, league 2 was bad enough.

Maybe we could apply for a video link and set-up a big screen in front of each stand.  It would certainly boost the attendance a bit, and also mean we could avoid watching our game while giving our club our money at the same time.

it's a win-win situation whatever the outcome really, they either get relegated or we get a nice derby next season.

I really wanted to go to Oxford next season...last time was the FA cup and I nearly got stood on by a horse!  :shock:

Wear your Swindon shirt. Burn an Oxford shirt, a la Gills. Burn an Oxford fan (there'll be plenty of willing victims), wearing an Oxford shirt, while chanting, "We'll never play you again!". Point and laugh at all Oxford fans. Remind them endlessly that it may be difficult to get out of League 2 (4 promotion places), but it'll be worse in the Conference (2 promotion places). Tell them you're looking forward to playing Accrington, a proper football club, next season. Sing, "Football League, la la la!" all day long.

In todays Poxford mail [which is a highly recommended read at the moment :wink: ] it says that the game on Saturday is a 12500 sell out,Orient have sold all their tickets too.

they probably dont feel as pissed off as us, lets face it they are a glorified non leauge team anyway, whereas we do not  fit in the basement division.

I know some people want to play them next season. If that happens it happens.

But I really would love to see those wankers go down with a whimper. It would be a bright end to a dismal season. C'mon Orient.

Got to be honest, I'd like Oxford to stay up, and Orient to stay down. Always enjoy a trip to Oxford, and it would be good to have a London game next season. Naturally I'd prefer to be playing QPR, or even Brentford (contemplating a trip anywhere more illustrious seems utterly ridiculous at this point in time), but a trip east is better than nothing.

I shan't be too disappointed if they don't manage it though  :)
