Had a good day at the Test yesterday - if a bit expensive (£4.20 a pint). Really feel for those attending today. Have had some of that myself in the past.
Going to Worcester/Lancs tomorrow.

For the last 15 mins he was in Aleem Dar's ear about the light, because he knew they were not going to win and he didn't want to go down in history to lose 4-0. Shane Warne was having a dig at Cook and questioning if England will go for it, and would they gamble to lose the test to win it. At the end of the day, Clarke gambled, but when it got tight and they were likely to lose, he wanted to get off asap. When the light meter came out he was harassing the umpires to see what the light meters said, when it was down to the umpires. |

My understanding is that they had set a precedence earlier in the series on meter readings so they were bound by the laws to stop play. Farce it is though I agree |

True, which is why I asked if the umpires could have refused the meter. They could've then just said play on. |
