Agree with the 320 point.

Totally disagree with not walking. No matter how you look at it, he cheated. No different to Maradonna's 'Hand of God' imho

That's fair enough NMH, as I said I believe it's up to the umpire to make the decision. It's evened itself out a little as I don't think Root knicked it but was given out, and the same with Trott when he was given out lbw when it looked as if he knicked it and there was no hotspot available...that's cricket as they say.

You won't see an Aussie batsman walking in their 2nd innings.

2 bad decisions went against England yesterday, 1 went for us today.

Seems fair to me - just like penalty decisions with those cheating scumbag footballers - things will equal out over the course of 5 days (or in the case of the Aussies, 4 days)

Clarke wasted their last review yesterday on a ridiculous lbw call. Tough shit!

And I do seem to remember Clarke not walking in a ashes game when he had clearly nicked it!!  What goes around comes around - just wonder what the aussie papers are saying this morning.  Siddall had the right attitude in my opinion when he said this sort of thing happens and we just get on with it.

The technology has been introduced now where you can disagree with the umpire and ask for a second look. The sport is professional now, not what it used to be (and not entirely in a bad way).

If it was me playing Sunday cricket then I would have walked. If it was me in a professional test match where the opposing teams have access to, and have used, their second calls, then fuck it, I'm staying in. Their own fault for not judging the situation correctly.

A low-key apology to the Australian captain after the game would be sporting and in the nature of the game.

I think it was Atherton who was called a "fucking cheat" by the wicketkeeper in Australia during the Ashes, and he just replied "When in Rome dear boy." The Aussies have done, and will do exactly the same thing time and time again.

Lead past 300 now, Bell (109) just got out...not too far away from posting the 320 I thought would be a good score last night.

Teams chasing 300 to win a test have lost 336...drawn 191...only 26 times have a team gone onto win while chasing over 300.

Glad that we've managed to recover and gain an encouraging lead, would have been very difficult protecting a lead of 180-200 odd.

310 to win, this should be comfortable but I'm still going to be nervous until we're absolutely certain.

If their number 11 can get 98 then 310 doesn't feel very comfortable!  Cheesy Think it may be close but we should be able to do it.

Based on the first half hour of batting Aus have every chance.  Pitch doesn't seem to have broken up and will be interesting to see what turn Swann gets out the omelettes.

It would be a record Trent Bridge 4th innings score from Australia to take this test.  We should win this.

I backed the Aussies at 13/8 just before lunch. They are now 8/11.

It seems to be a trend that in country rather than breaking up pitches seem to get flatter and slower.
