I've only played one match (France v France 4 player)  so far but it is much, much better than last year. Henry is massively overpowered though and it is almost unfair to play him. The presentation is much improved too and the matches are quicker and less robotic than last years 360 one.

I think the diving is automatic. Well that is what the people I played against claimed... They refs are a bit harsher though and long range shooting is actually possible, at last.

Just because the site says its posted doesn't mean it will miraculously fly through the air from wherever the bulk is despatch from straight to your door.

Why don't you have time to go out and buy things? do you work a 24hr shift?

Oh by the way the slowdown has also been reported to have happened on the 360 version.

The ps3 version can be fixed by installing the game onto the HDD, it only happens during replays and cut scenes anyway.

I'm only talking about last year's 360 version, I remember ISS (KCET) when you could score 30 and 40 yarders all the time. Now on 360 you can latch onto knock downs and clearances and have far more of a chance of getting them on target - much more like the PS2 version. It is easier to score but you still need to make the space to get the shot away.

Sonic on the Megadrive remains the fastest computer game EVER. No slowdown on that bad boy. (Something the far inferior Super NES could never boast I might add)

fifteen years on and we're no further forward. Progress? I bet these new fangled so called games can't hold a torch in the playability stakes to sensible soccer either. Still sitting proud at the top of the best computer football game EVER charts. Progress? we've gone backwards  :old:  :old:

For £30 this plays an authentic (well Megadrive) version of Sensi

This game is indeed superb. The speed has improved dramatically. It's so much quicker in general it pisses on the new Fifa. The passing is still smooth but it's harder because you have to get it right to a tee with the pace and direction. Shooting and heading has improved a lot as well. It's harder to direct a shot now and the gameplay feels better and the shots are more realistic. The dive feature is great as well.

On terms of the game in general the commentry is much better than the last one. The menus look better and are easy to navigate. There isn't that shit music. You can edit teams and players which you couldn't do on the least one. And a big thing for me is that you can save replays again because the last one didn't have that which was dissapointing. Superb game.

Yeah I heard this. If you install the game onto the hard drive, it should help with the framerate skips. Tbh, they shouldn't be in the game at all with how powerful the console is. Shoddy programming. I am still waiting for my copy from amazon.

This happens every time a new version of PES comes out. Thousands of users around Europe all logging into the Konami servers via Xbox Live and it struggles to cope. Give it a few days and the new game novelty will wear off and thus the lag dissapears.

Harder to pass and harder to shoot. Other than that then yes.

I haven't tried yet but it's suppose to be quite shoddy at the moment, Konami are working on a patch that will fix the slowdown and online play.

Through balls are a lot better and if you shoot with players like Gerrard and Lampard you can literally aim staight at the keeper and it will still go in.

Still, it's a lot more playable and harder to tackle.

Jut played my first game on xbox live on the 360 and lost 2-1.  Not to bad considering ve never played with one of these small jopypads, and am not used to the positions of the new buttons.

Does any1 know what button to press to shoulder barge a player.  At the moment i can only win the ball via slide tackles, but i concede a lot of fouls this way.

Cheers

Played online tonight against STFC Manc, and had some good games (aprt from my headset being fucked !)

I'd say their are currently 2 major flaws in the game however.

One is that certain online players (not stfc manc) have figured out a way of shooting low across the ground from just outside the box, which then makes your goalie fumble the bal when trying to save the shot.  This usually results in an oposing player usually having a chance to tap the ball into the net from one yard out.

The second major major major flaw of the game is that its way to easy to score goals.  All you have to do is get  fast players on the ball, and just simply run at will agaisnt apposing defenders.

STFC Manc played as England, and SWP, Owen and Rooney terrorised all my teams who i played with simply because of their pace.  I played as Germany, and they only had one fella who was really quick.  However when i got him on the ball, only a couple of times did an england player win the ball back fairly from him.  Most the other times he was fouled !  I won 3 penalties with this bloke, and managed to get rio ferdinand sent off twice for england.  Likewise whenever owen or rooney were on the ball, i usually had to foul either player to hault play.

At the moment, i prefer pro evo 5 to this version simply because it encourages more passing in the game.  On the one game tonight where i just kept on getting my fast player onto the ball, i managed to win 4-1.  But after this, i think STFC Manc cottened on to the fact that running with fast players was the way to play the game, and he started easily beating me towards the end.

Hopefully stfc manc will wanna rematch tomorrow.  If so, i will probably be france, as henry, trezuguet and saha's pace should result in me scoring at least 2-3 goals a game.

Ha ha, yeah all the flaws I have found.  Its when you went to three upfront i got beat 4 - 1 then I did the same and it worked.  We had a bit of lag online, however this might be my fault.  I asked my gf to turn of the other computer as it was dling stuff.  Guess what, she didnt!

I will be up for a game some time today.

Tbh you can only run through the other team when your playing and that easiest level. Then it becomes harder. It doesn't allocate for a huge amount of passing but you have to pass more on the higher levels.

I've got this game and Fifa 08 and in my opinion Fifa is superior to PES this year, Fifa has really improved, the gameplay is better and it is harder to score than on PES, also the graphics are much better.

The team names on PES are piss poor, on PES 6 they only had the official team name and players for arsenal and man utd, this team round they only have tottenham and newcastle, that is terrible in my opinion and puts me off playing the game alittle.

Good games tonight STFC Manc. Managed to beat me 3-1 in games overall

Hopefully Konanmi will sort out the internet connection problems though, as i experienced major lag at times in all our games tonight.  I mean when i scored the 3 goals in my only win, rio ferdinand completely missed the ball for you, and one of those occasions i managed to score   That had to be because of the lag.

Sorry for conceding lots of penalties.  I fair few times through our games one of your players would be in a certain position.  I would then go in for a tackle, and then all of a sudden my screen would freeze for a second, and then the game would go really quick for like 2 seconds to catch up with the action.  Then all of a sudeen your player would have run past my defence unchalleneged and would be 1 on 1 vs my keeper, who would then dive and give away a penalty.!  Still i was chuffed to save all 5 penalties which i gave away      :D

Hopefully Konami will sort out the internet connection problems which people are experiencing otherwise i cant see me playing lots of games online due to the lag issues

But on this one you can edit team names so it doesn't matter. Tbh if you buy a game just because it has the real team names then that's pretty poor. My mate prefers Fifa for this reason as well

But the thing is with Pro Evo 7 is that it is much quicker and more realistic. The shooting has been changed for the worse i feel but i think the general pace of the game and the added extras make it better than Fifa again. Fifa has sorted itself out this year but they still haven't touched Pro Evo for gameplay. I still find Fifa dull and boring and cannot bring myself to play it.

Def some good games.  One thing that did make me laugh was in the game u won 3-2 you kept passing the ball about in your back line.  Time waster :P  The problem was that I nearly scored 3-4 of times.

Yeah you kept fouling me :( AND I MISSED! AH

The lag in the game you won was stupid, I saw my player run with the ball, then your 1 on 1 with the keeper, i was like what the fuck?

But alls good the ends good. My victory.  Think I am beginning to get used to the game.

It's only a matter of time before a new football game blows proev out the water. They seem to have a life span. Kick off was the best football game, then sensi for ages, then fifa, and now for a while proev. Someone needs to release a football game that expands the genre. There's only so much you can take the current crop of 3d, but not much more interesting than isometric, football games.

Yes some worthy competition would be good. But PES has been dominant for 7 years now and before that Konami's ISS series way back to the snes, which is where PES evolved from, it's practically the same series. The last good fifa game was '95. Arguably '98 Road to the World Cup. A few other good titles cropped up. Obviously Sensible Soccer, Kick Off, World Cup Striker and Actua Soccer 2 wasn't a bad game...

Yes that's pretty much hit the nail on the head. The only thing i will say is that the gameplay on the new fifa has improved but it's still behind pro evo. I do think the new pro evo is a bit more "fifa like" though which is worrying.

I like the master league mode on this new one. It's much better. You have the option of either going with current sqauds, choosing a base team of master league players (i'm guessing you have done this?) or creating a your own team. It also has a popularity grading in which it makes it harder to sign players as you can only negotiate with players in your popularity grading. Great stuff. More of a challenge.

It can be difficult. Playing home or away effects the difficulty slightly, also the condition arrows, formations, etc. I'm playing on regular. Played 16, Won 8, Lost 5, Drawn 3.
I just got hammered 4-1 away to Bolton as Man Utd in the league. My excuse is I had Evra in goal for the last 70 mins.

I'm still in the adjusting phase. The passing is frustrating at times. My 40 yarders won't fly in anymore though. All in all though i love it, and lets face it, we have a whole year to wait til the next best thing. The editing is appalling by the way in comparison to games of old.

Games played - 18
Wins - 10
Losses - 5
Draws - 3
Goals scored - 28
Goals conceded - 19
totals shots on goal - 192

Now for a game you say has easier shooting, that seems a pretty poor ratio. 192 shots to 28 scored.

It's harder to create though. I have about 2 chances every game and score at least 1.

Good games tonight STFC Manc

Decided to play 5 at the back with Barca as i know you like to get the ball to your wingers with England, so i had to stop that tactic at all costs.

It seemed to work pretty well, as our games were much closer and tighter tonight   :D

Yes indeed, that tactic was doing my head in.  But i changed my game, kept passing it straight through you :)

Think I won overall, no idea how many we played? 6?7?8?

Maybe not  :D

First game you won 4-2 even though i had more shots on target and if i had my firing boots i woulda probably at least got a draw.

Second game i was 3-0 up after 40 mins and you disconnected   :D

The fucking lag is soo bad against you.  every one of your goals, I had the ball, then suddenly  ur one on one, this only happens when I play you.  Everyone else has a good connection.

So I could not be bothered with it.  You more than likely would have won.

Dont think I will bother playing you again.  Unless your connection improves.  Played 6-7 games online today and yesterday, only yours has lag.

Ok no worries.  My game was beter then last weeks lag fest, but again the lag ruined the game in crucial moments - eg Rooney scored for you by running past 3 of my players unchalleneged.

I have a sky 8 mb connection so if that connection cant handle this game,  then well im fucked.

Well I just played some one else. Had one moment of lag all game.  in the middle of the park.  Where as against you in the first 5 mins I had 2 bits of lag, both lead to goals.

Have you got any torrents dling? or any of your house mates, or whoever you live with?  This really messes up the game.

Also your 8 meg will more than likely be 2-3 meg.  As it depends how far you live from the exchange.

if you're getting lag, i'd imagine it'w because 305,545,454 others are playing at the same time

Konami are currently working on a patch for PS3 and 360, to sort out the offline framerate issues. There is already a PC patch avaliable. Later the online situation will be sorted. Sorry if I've already posted this but it is not just down to what connection you're using. Konami know there's a problem and say they're dealing with it.

I have this for my laptop, doesn't slow down at all so that's good. Only played a few games but seems to be the best one so far, beat Brazil 2-1 as England on the top player level and Finland 3-1.
