I read that as "Women on the roof of the DRS this morning preparing for a new arrival". I thought maybe the GWH had become so rammed we were using the DRS roof as a makeshift maternity ward.

This would be logical. The floodlights need to be brighter for next season and it's probably cheaper to fit a more modern lighting gantry on top of the DRS than replacing all the failed units.

There are no signs which support that end of Colbourne street being residents parking after the disrpution of double yellow lines on both sides. Plus there is an additional sign half way Down Colbourne St on the left indicating that that portion is RP. Again there is nothing supporting the two sides at the County Road end, where there was restricted parking signs previous but they have been removed. I pointed out this with photo evidence and a stinging rebuke that I reckon I could find many examples of residents parking where each section was supported with a specific sign indicating this.

82ers announce a £9.2 million loss up to May 2014.
On top of the previous years loss of £11.5 million

FFP anyone ??

Title: Re: Here is the news
Post by: kerry red on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, 14:50:58
No doubt the 82ers will put a gloss on it.

If Lansdowne hadn't written off another £35m they'd be right up shit creek.

I presume that being in the Championship will involve an upturn in debt.

I'm sure I read recently that QPR had a load of debt written off but the authorities now disregard that when it comes to deciding if FFP rules have been breached.

Most of the stadium costs will be capitalised, but they will need the money from Lansdown to pay for them.

They will have to pay out more win bonuses, probably promotion bonuses, and if they win the JPT, bonuses for that in a smaller capacity stadium.

Could be even bigger losses this season as well?

Lansdown has already paid off 35 million of their debt. I have no doubt he will continue to do so.

The bigger stadium I guess he hopes will be the beginning of them turning a profit, although the only real way of doing this is getting them in the Premiership I guess?

Title: Re: Here is the news

And how much will that cost?

That's the reason QPR are in the shit - debts racked up in getting promoted from the Championship.

The question is: how long is he willing to pump money into a club marooned in the Championship

It's not just a club to him is it though, it's the club he supports and it costs him a fraction of his huge wealth.

If he were to ever walk away I highly doubt he would leave them in the shit either.

Clubs owned by a sugar daddy fan, have a habit of falling apart around the departure of their man.....think Walker at Blackburn, Whelan at Wigan and Hayward at Wolves.....usually though they buy a bit of success first....Walker the Prem, Whelan the FA Cup, Hayward a return to top flight football.   I suppose Lansdown may see the JPT in that light.

Those accounts are only up to 31 May last year so this season's financials aren't known yet.

I think, TBF, they have attempted to slash costs but that remains to be seen.

They are, in fact, losing £750,000 each and every month

It's interesting how much the original sugar daddies like Walker, who were home town boys made good putting back something into their clubs changed the expectations from fans and players on what a club owner was there for.

Now both fans and players expect a wealthy owner to freely handover £10, £15m a season so players can earn vast amounts of cash and supporters get on the rollercoaster of success or failure.

The only promise of a return would be maybe getting in the Premier League and even then you have to throw more millions to try to stay there.

The genie is out the bottle so it won't change until the Sky BT Sport gravy train comes to a halt.
