Rest easy now. Not guilty and reputation intact. As Nelson once said. “Thank god I did my duty.” Few messages from “Up North” the last few days. Good luck Hartlepool ...... hope you get back in the FL soon. Night Steve

Just read back the thread, there's a load of his posts here. Steve should have gone into politics, he'd make a good Tory MP.
Wrong thread Sir Reg of the Multitude.
As you bought it up he’d make a good MP period, irrespective of the colour of the rosette.

Bet he's glad he's not pretty now. I see "the government have also asked that he step aside from running a business"* for 9 years.

You almost have to feel sorry for him. The VAT fraud he attempted was a bog standard scam that they teach accounting students about in any Intro to Tax course. That shower (Jed, Murrall, the Rick Wakeman look-a-like fella) always gave the impression that they were hopelessly out of their depth - & Steve's now confirmed that with his 8 stretch. Plonker.

I'd love to have a sit down with Murrall, with a few beers, and ask him just how, exactly, he was expecting to get away with this: The investigation was launched in March 2015 after a company reported they loaned £500,000 to Stephen Murrall, aged 49, of New Street, Shipston, on the pretence that he had a contract with the Maltese government and a letter underwriting the loan from a professional service company.
The court heard how Murrall forged these documents along with bogus bank statements and invoices, all of which were found on his computer.

He would have got away with it were it not for those pesky kids.....

He also said in this in court.... ’ Love the "claimed they had the gate receipts paid into the THM account because there was petty theft throughout the club". So they solved the petty theft by replacing it with massive fraud, simples!
