Title: Tonights Games: Hereford v Brighton, Leyton Orient v Leeds United
Post by: Batch on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, 10:09:46
I think it's pretty obvious which teams we hope will win tonight.

But since we have Brighton on Saturday I expect them to hammer 5 past Hereford, and Orient will fluke something against Leeds.

It's the way of the world.

So he'll miss our game - I know he's hardly a superstar.

Every little helps if he's suspended

Bit worried about the next two games now. We are always shit at Brighton and Orient look good on the road and hard to beat.

Yeah - which could work in our favour when they come to the County Ground.

If Orient are as much of a threat as you fella's are making out then I'd expect us not to win another game this season.

2-2 Orient Leeds - FT
1-2 Hereford (Pen)-FT.

Hopefully as Pullen said Orient will be on their holidays when we play them.

Oxford only drew tonight at York while 10 men Stevenage won and 9 men Kidderminster drew. Everyone around them have games in hand so that's a big dent in their late Play-Off push.

I see it more as a "must draw".....to prevent Brighton from getting back in the mix.
Our two home games are the "must wins". Win them both and we'll stay up.

Yep...you're right, we looked to fighting it out for the 4th relegation spot, if Brighton win with a game in hand, it becomes the 3rd as well. :(

Orient aren't out of it at all. That point means that if we match results on Saturday and then beat them they are still only a point ahead of us.

Technically the second leg of the play offs - 1-0 at full time.  But I'm just being an arse.  Agree we need to win.Anyone know where Drury lives?

If you think these are bad prepare yourself for a scary afternoon on Friday.

Cobblers, Carlisle and Yeovil all in action....we could be back hanging by a thread on Sat morning and in the zone by Saturday evening.

Cobblers away at Rovers, not easy. Carlisle have a gimme at home to Oldham, and Yeovil have a tough game home to Millwall.

On Sat Crewe have HPool...can you see them fucking up like us?

All our main competitors have shown a recent willingness to battle for a result...we have to start and it must happen on Saturday...

Problem is Flash, I don't think we're capable.  I don't think Wilson is prepared to bite the bullet and send out his team to play anything other than decent  football...bit like Mowbray in the Prem.  In some ways it's admirable, but can easily get you relegated.

I think we are able to get two wins.....but two wins only and i dont know if that will be enough?

You don't see as much good doom-mongering nowadays, it would be a shame for it to go the way of fishmongering and ironmongering. The lesser mongerings of scare and war seem to be having a resurgence though -  but these are unskilled trades in comparison to the trio of classics.

Ahh. Common misconception. Cheesemongering isn't a true mongering, it's an a artisaning.

A good point well made....just hope we do at least the same at Brighton..Swindon is all the poorer for the loss of its fish and ironmongering capacity, although commendation should be given to Ron's Stores and Old Town Hardware, which although decent enough is no Limmex or even Handy's.

Somehow you'd have thought thisis would be the ideal vehicle for mongering...
