The stats from last night tell the tale of how easy a win it was, very comfortable.

Possession: Swindon Town 60% Burton Albion 40%

Shots 17 - 2
On target 5 - 1
Corners 13 - 0
Fouls 8 - 10

God I want us to beat those inbred scum on Saturday so fucking much.

We are going to storm this league, I can't help thinking that a bit better start to the season and we could almost have been promoted already.

Times and songs move on...although its taken us about 6 years to have a 'White Stripes/7 nation army' song...the Germans had it at their World Cup and only made an appearance at the CG this year.

April 2006. Hearts beat Edinburgh rivals Hibs in the Scottish Cup semi final at Hampden. That song came on and a minute later 30k Hearts fans had spawned 'oh the hibees are gay' to that tune, which has now stuck.

What is the Swindon version?

One surprising comment on the Burton forum (Clough the magic dragon)

would have taken a 2-0 defeat before the game on current form but what got me was that Swindon were no where near as good as Cheltenham but our set up let them come at us

An interesting take I must say.

Funny how every team we play at the moment says they haven't played their best or we aren't as good as our position suggests  Hmmm

They do and none of them consider that we make them look shit.

I think it's also fair to say that with every game being different, Cheltenham could've been at their best and us not.

Christ, I've seen us play far, far, far better than last night - no one can draw conclusions from 1 game. Look at the gills! They were and still are in my opinion, the best team we've played, yet they're floundering about looking useless.

Edit: sorry, that sounds really patronising! Smiley

Cibbochi is my new favourite player, had a good solid game with Rooney down the left, no idea how he got a yellow card though.

Easy 2-0 win which could have easily been 4 or 5 if we took our chances.

Not much love between the two for a bit in the second half when they were arguing like two school boys until Risser told them to shut up

I said earlier on in this thread, I think we are having our 'blip' at the moment - but as we are still winning, outsiders just see the wins and presume we are constantly on top of our game.

Bit of smoke and mirrors really

God help the opposition when we hit top form again

There was a moment in the first half where McCormack screamed “for F**ks sake Cibo” at the top of his voice which made me chuckle

I liked when someone said we were threatening to go on a blip but as you say kerry - this patchy form has been our blip and it just shows the great spirit and resilience running through the side.

Feels nice to be witnessing a bit of history - 10 consecutive wins. Stunning.

Embarrass the Pox, 11 straight wins, win the league, win the JPT - what a fucking great time to be a Town fan.

As for last night. Yet another routine 2-0 win against a standard L2 side.

As has already been said, Risser had his best game in a Swindon shirt last night and may have played himself into the starting XI against Oxford.  I couldnt fault anyone in a red shirt last night, terrific stuff.

Ronan Murray won me a massive £8 and for that, he will always have a little place in my heart.

It all looks pretty good for the trip up the A420 on Saturday morning.  YOU RED!
