As part of my New Year's Resolution I promised myself I'd improve my fitness so maybe I can play a but of Sunday League Football next season. I've cut back on the pies and chocolate, but someone was telling me today a pint has as many calories as a bar of chocolate. Is this actually true? It will make me think twice about drinking and I don't like that idea!
I go to the gym about 4-6 times a week, and do about 30 mins aerobic exercise - running, biking etc... and sometimes do a few weights. Is this good enough?! I'm trying to get my weight down to about 10 st - I'm currently about 10.5st.
This is a thread strictly for meterosexuals only....

good work there, seems as though you've got stuck in well by going 4-6 times a week.

You cut back on pies, what about the county ground burgers? I wished they still did the bacon rolls in the south stand.

My manager gave up smoking and now runs every day and never eats unhealthy food. You should all be ashamed of yourself.

I cycle to work and walk the dog,I ride fast but walk slow thats all the exercise I do.Ive thought about jogging the dog around the field a couple of times every morning but I find it hard to motivate myself and feel a bit self concious about it . I was playing with a blood pressure machine earlier and mine is dangerously high ,I might die any time On the plus side today is my 20th day without a fag which is quite an achievment for a 20-30 a day man.

Talking of walking, I was over on the Rivals Brentford site for a shufty, and some of their fans are planning to walk to Hartlepool to raise money for the club, for when they play them back end of Feb.......they're also including some other charities in it.
Apparently when they were on the brink of relegation last season, someone rashly said "if we stay up I'll walk ot H/Pool"
A 50 mins walk a day is probably about as much as you need to keep in good shape.

I go to the gym about once a week or so when I have time. Also have 45 minute walk to uni and back. 10 stone is not much walrus, how tall are you? I am just over 11 stone.

Sounds more like you should just bulk up a bit. Alternate the sessions - aerobics, running, biking one day then cardio stuff the next. Get fit, but tone up at the same time.
