I find it amusing that you lot think of immigrants when you think of England. I think you should change your newspaper subscription from the Daily Mail to something else.

In 2001 4.4% of England's population was made up of immigrants.

As opposed to 5 for Denmark, 7 for Greece, 8.2 Belgium, 11.1 US, 19.5 NZ, 19.7 Switzerland, 23.1% for Australia and a whole host of other countries with higher percentages of immigrants than us.

  If you believe the stats from the 2001 census you'll believe anything...over 1 million people were officially lost, after the census.

  That doesn't include illegal immigrants.

I only put immagrents to make a point I think immagration is a good thing. I wish I'd put multi-culturism or sommin thinking about it.

Many may associate England with immigration because of the composition of races in England and indeed the UK. Without the shortages of doctors we wouldn't have as big an Asian community in England. This is why many would (rightly) associate England with immigration.

Illegal immigration on the other hand has been well documented in recent years, and I can see why people associate this with England as well.
