To be honest its a complete joke. Every scoreboard Swindon have had has been complete rubbish. Reading must have been rubbing their hands together when they found out we were willing to pay for it. I hope the club don't waste further money on repairing/replacing it. Lets be honest, if you were a small business based in Swindon would you be queueing up to advertise on it? I seriously doubt it.

the club don't pay for it, they've contributed precisely zero towards the purchase, installation, repairs et al.
if you're going to moan about something, get your facts right first.

Please reread my post before having a pop at me. I never said the club have paid anything. I said 'we' as in the fans. If my facts are correct was it not through the supporters club the scoreboard was originally paid for. I'm not moaning at all, I just don't feel the need for any party connected to the club to waste money on something such as a scoreboard. I for one am perfectly able to keep score of a game without it.

In a lighter text perhaps Sonic you could update us as to what is actually wrong with it as it never seemed to be right from day one and the OS never mentions anything as we all know.

I hope the club don't waste further money on repairing/replacing it. A little misleading, no? Usually when people refer to 'the club' they mean Swindon Town FC, not the STFC Supporter's Club. The Supporter's Club purchased the scoreboard, the ins and outs of which are not my business and you'd have to contact them if you wanted further details, such as where exactly the money came from. It wasn't purchased solely to display the score, it was intended - as far as I'm aware - to raise money for the Supporter's Club, which they will no doubt waste on sending the youth team to Northern Ireland to compete in the Milk Cup again next summer. So far, other than a few technical mishaps, it's been relatively successful. My soberity permitting anyway. I've not spoken to anyone about the scoreboard and I had nothing to do with it today, but I'd hazard a guess that the cold weather has played havoc with some of the connections at the back of the board and hopefully it'll be a case of getting up there and making sure everything is plugged in securely. Unfortunately, it's not very easy to get up there and to get anything done around the stadium you need to go through a fair bit of bureaucratic bullshit.
