High reving engines like a Type R's produce their power high up the rev range so to keep the engine on the boil you need to keep the revs up and work it. A 6 speed box helps this by using shorter gear ratios.

FAO all that were in Whitsy's motor.....what was that song that sounded a bit like the Editors? The only bit of the song i can remember is the end of the chorus, "Why can't we look the other way?"?Huh?Huh?
