I bought a new Samsung D500 2 weeks ago and when i woke up on sunday morning i found the screen had a big black blotch across it. I'm absolutely gutted cos i love the phone.

I went out saturday night and had alot to drink but can't think how this happened to my phone :?

My question is, will Phones 4 U replace it for me?

It's not insured and it's pay as you go.

If it's water damage or beyond wear and tear, then not a prayer, if it's just broke they have to if it's not a year old.

Phones 4 u are a bunch of fucking cunts, I will never buy another phone from them ever.  My phone once broke after about a week I went in there to ask them to change it, and the cocky cunt tried to sell me another phone.  Fucking hate that store.

But i didn't fall over or drop it, i can't think what happened.

It didn't get wet thats for sure.

Surely they have to replace faulty goods?

If it's broke the law says they do due to europe wide 1 (maybe 2) year guarantee, but if they find the merest bit of liquid they'll refuse in my experience.

D500's are built like tanks, it would have taken some serious damage to cause the screen to go like that.

Mine was completely submerged in 4 inches of watery Glastonbury mud and still works perfectly.

Sounds like a dodgy phone to me.

Be very careful in your description of what happened.  If there is even a hint that it could be because the screen was pushed in, then they will use it to avoid replacing (and by the sounds of it that is what has happened).

If it came boxed then say it was like it when you opened it, just been unable to get back into Town so have used it with the defect until today.

Also check that there is no sign of a crack or pressure having been applied to the screen.
The fact that you didn't take their insurance will no doubt infuriate them, so you need to stick to your guns and make a public display of petulance if they don't agree.  Nothing like putting off the other customers to get your own way.

You probably banged it when you were pissed. It could be worse, you could have banged some Chinese girl and cheated on your missus!
