I thought he was Glasgow born, but raised on Merseyside? Making it scouse? bearing in mind he may have had African parentage which could have affected his accent too.

Makes sense, but not everyone raised in Merseyside has a scouse accent. I was born and bred in Southport, and I don't have a scouse accent (and nor do most people from Southport), more a general Northwest accent (albeit toned down a lot now after the best part of 20 years living among you southern shandy drinkers).

Good. I've got receipts for all my electrical goods, although some of them are hand-written it must be said. And since last Friday I haven't got a job. But I don't have a shelly or a tache.
