The English national flag could be "misinterpreted" as a racist symbol, says Chief Inspector of Prisons Anne Owers.
She added that race was a weak area at the prison, where all the warders are white and 16% of inmates are from ethnic minorities.
The top security jail is home to child killer Ian Huntley, and Harold Shipman killed himself there last year.

Heard about that on the radio this morning - it's fucking madness isn't it.
Anyone living in Britain who is from another country is always allowed to show off the fact they are from elsewhere, but anyone displaying anything vaguely English is castigated. :evil:

this whole political correctness thing has gone mad! its gone too far. the fact that the country's very own inhabitants cannot fly their own flag is a disgrace. and the thing is its not the whole of Britain either. the Welsh and Scottish can fly their flags. so what makes our flag so racist?

I know it has gone mad. There was a thing where a local council asked a family to take down their English flag because it was offensive to Indians and Pakistanis in the area. If the council came and asked me to take down my 6 ft Norwegian flag down I would tell them to fuck off, or pretend to not be able to speak english  |
