Making his debut for Madrid after 14 long months on the sidelines....scores an own goal after 20 minutes!

Oh dear, poor lad - if he can stay injury free he still has a bright future ahead of him.

I for one wish him luck and hope to see him in an England shirt again.

Well, of course, i agree with you Tom, i just found it funny that the Spanish press had really been building him up over the past few weeks. They were basically saying he was going to kickstart their season, but instead he has made it even worse.

In all honesty (sp), i thought he was good, but not worth £14mil that they paid for him! He's wasn't even an England regular ffs!

Looks like Luxemburgo will be booted out tonight, if the scoreline stays the same.....

The Times says today that if Woodgate stays fit he'd be England's best central defender.

They said that Terry in particular and Rio to an extent rarely reproduce their best form for England.

I think they were suggesting that it should be a Woodgate-Campbell partnership.

Could be a case of 'absence makes the heart grow fonder' seeing as Sol and Woodgate haven't been around for a while.

It's his stupid (non) haircut that seeled his fate...

Terry and Rio is England's best cenrtal defensive pairing I reckon, we just need a decent right back to emerge before the world cup

Our defender should be a choice of:

Ferdinand
Carragher
Terry
King
Huh?Huh?

I wouldn't let Sol Campbell or Jonny Woodgate anywhere near or plane to Germany.
