Pakistan got absolutely hammered by the Aussies a few months back.

Away from home with an injury depleted side.

Anyone thinks the series against Pakistan isn't going to be fucking hard is deluding themselves

Being a big cricket fan, are you getting annoyed with all these bangwagoners talking the talk like they know what they are on about when really they dont?

Well I suppose it can be annoying but I'd rather see people taking an interest but talking bollocks about it than no-one caring.

On the whole Lee/Aktar thing I rekon Lee is the better bowler now. Came out with real credit from that series. Well he's the one Id rather have in my side anyway.

As for cricket bandwagon jumpers, just enjoy it. To be honest you always get people talking bollocks at the cricket, especially England games. I remmember some conversations I had on monday, then read newspapers the next day and realised I had key facts wrong. So the people near me probably thought I was talking crap as well. Thats drinking lager and talking crap, at the Oval. On the day mighty England won the Ashes. That massive boost to our nations sporting pride and I was there!   Not that Id ever rub it in.

For all Lee's guts and detemination he still averaged 40. Hugely disappointing return for a supposed strike bowler. He's just too wayward and inconsistent in Tests.

Edit: It's more than that though. He's just got nothing about him. He just runs in and tries to bowl as fast as possible. If you don't move it in Test cricket then you're going to struggle and Lee does struggle. His yorker-bouncer game works brilliantly in ODIs but it isn't enough in Tests particularly when you need to build pressure over a sustained period.

I think the media had been far too generous in handing out praise to Lee this summer. Yes he's gutsy, yes he's batted well, yes he's fast, yes he's exciting but he ain't good enough.

Yeah, I didnt rate him before. But he carried the Aussie pace attack at key moments in the series. His spell at Trent Bridge in the final innings almost pulled off a miracle for them.

His record isnt great, far from it. But I think this series might be the making of Lee, and Australia now need him! Just a hunch that he will go on and do well now.

Like you said Aktar/Lee Test career stats then no comparison.

And edit - Yes I admit I like him a lot more for his entertainment value. Those celebrations (Old Trafford-fridays last ball of the day), hitting batsmen with 95mph deliverys. Quality entertainment.

brett lee's main problem is that he's very fucking thick. did you see those three overs against pieterson on the final day of the fifth test? he bowled brainlessly and went for more than 30 (if i remember correctly), totally letting england off the hook.

australia were lucky that shane warne can build up pressure on his own otherwise england would've won a lot sooner.

is akhtar even in the pakistan squad anymore?

the one bowler we should be very afraid of is rana naved, he has been immense since arriving at sussex, his slow ball is almost in slow motion. fantastic strike rate. very very dangerous

Quality in ODIs but he's bowled like a donkey in Tests. Still he is very good and will be a threat like you say.

Shoaib hasn't been in the last couple of Pakistan sqauds because of fitness and then discipline issues but he'll be back for England.

Pakistan have a very good bowling attack; Shoaib, Rana Naved, Kaneria, Afridi and another seamer (Gul, Sami or Shabbir who are all a bit average). However, their batting implodes on a regular basis despite having Inzamam and Yosuf Youhana in their side.

Thats why i'm looking forward to this tour Smiley ,Pakistan are never dull to watch and they have great players but there is always potential for a major fuck up,and i think Inzamam is brilliant too.
