Football's back, and so are the polls. Lots of new faces, and lots of players used in a very decent performance.

Obviously there's a small number of people who actually saw this game, so radio coverage and clips are all you have to go on unless you were there!

Posting this before the shoot out as I need to go to bed, but can't imagine there'll be any more subs!

I’m gonna give the keeper a nod for what (was described as) two excellent saves at the end to keep us in the game…

Random comment is our keeper pronounced "marney" like the Irish would say or is it "ma hone ee" like our commentary says

I’m going with the latter a la Steve Guttenburg in Police Academy

Lots of good performances, all the three starting CB’s played well, Kinsella was efficient in midfield.
None of the starting XI had a bad game, but for me I was most impressed with UGM

FBT just edges it for me.
Kemp very good but through on goal in 2nd half, that was the chance.

Impressed by UGM.
No concerns about Mahoney, looks a good shot stopper & very composed with ball at his feet as well.

Went for kemp as he was quality throughout.   Thought he'd scored the winner late on.
Mahoney kept us in it with a couple of fantastic saves at the death.
FBT was quality first half but misplaced a few passes in the 2nd and missed the first pen.

Overall a massive uplift on last season, particularly tempo and intent.

Concerned about set pieces though as we are very small.

I thought Tom Brewitt was immense tonight, the back 3 were all great but he was my stand out, his anticipation and determination swung it over the other 2. Tbf there were 8-9 candidates tonight, I fucking enjoyed that!

Opted for Brewitt, I was expecting him to be something of a weak link in the back line but can’t remember too much he did wrong all game. But I don’t think anyone was poor tonight.

I'd imagine Hawes has asked him, unless he has no idea there was another (non Police Academy) way to pronounce it.   Which is the position I was in until I read your post.

FBT for motm, from Kemp and then Brewitt. But no-one played badly.  Bodes well for the season.

For me Kemp edged the MOM, but by a whisker, cannot fault anyone tonight, Austin was our weakest link, his woeful pass led to the Peterborough goal, and apart from a glancing header, I cannot remember him threatening. Khan was also excellent in the midfield
