Yep - because they sell the TV/streaming rights as a single package to potential bidders, which makes more money than a bunch of unknown games each year.  When they sell the TV deal for the league itself, they carve out streaming to enable iFollow.  Given the sheer volume of fixtures, the TV companies probably do not chop off any premium as a result - plenty of games to choose from and they can't show 3pm games anyway.  The Cup is not protected by the blackout, so the TV companies want the pick and not to be restricted.

I have a vague recollection of watching an EFL cup game once on the Bet365 app after I had put a small bet on the game, no idea if they are still doing this?

They’ve shut half their ground for the game.

Yeah always associate them with scoring loads. Tough place to go for a new group of players - respectable scoreline falls marginally behind no injuries on my wishlist for tomorrow night. Saturday far more important.

Peterborough 4-3 Swindon.

In his pre-match presser Flynn said he'd never lost a first round EFL cup game.

I suspect tonight might be his first. 3-1 Posh is my prediction.

It will be an interesting challenge given we have yet to have played a competitive game and Posh won their game on Saturday. Will the extra 'rest' work or will we be rusty as fuck? the priority of course is Crewe in the league, but to get into the 'hat' for the next round would be a good fillip.
