It starts snowing here in the Lake District from 1.00AM for 7 hours tomorrow morning. Again around 11.00AM for a few hours and finally around late afternoon for a while.

The windchill factor is forecast to take temperatures down to -12.

Even if the coach company is prepared to travel tomorrow to bring the team up, there’s no guarantee that the game will happen.

We’ve had to delay our return home tomorrow because of the forecasted conditions.

Just over the border, not that far from Carlisle, they’re forecasting up to 30cm of snow tomorrow.

As much as anything Carlisle will depend on what's happening in the noth pennines, they get a big dumpn of if snow up there tonight and then it melts the Eden could be very full which could cause chaos at Brunton pk.

Going to leave it until early Saturday Morning to buy first leg train tickets.
All depends on the severity of the storms tomorrow.
Don’t fancy having to drive.

Looks like I may have picked the wrong year to tick this one off!

I have booked a couple of nights stay in Ousby and I'll probably still venture up, weather permitting, regardless of whether the game is on as the family are looking forward to a couple of nights away. Does anyone have any suggestions of things to do/see in the NW of Yorkshire Dales or SW of the North Pennines? We like the great outdoors but my Wife is awaiting a knee opp. so won't be able to walk far.

Apologies if this is in the wrong thread (should maybe have gone in the Holidays one). Any suggestions will be greatfully recieved!

Was going to travel today.
Train from Euston cancelled.
Ticket office at Kings X said ok to use the ticket to go via Newcastle & that all the train companies were helping each other out.
Then gave me a reservation for a service that disappeared off the departure board.
Got to the ticket barrier & it was nope we are not taking Avanti tickets.

Scuppered by Dudley & Eunice.
Who the hell thinks up these names.

Hope the game goes ahead or if not the call off is done early.
Will look at the options tomorrow morning.

Now stuck at Paddington.

Should be better tomorrow mate.
Only challenge the damage already caused by the storm. Getting an update from Carlisle later.

Hoping to use Chiltern services from Banbury to get to Wolverhampton.
From Wolverhampton is “your” train service from Euston.

Failing this option to drive to Wolverhampton if Chilterns are cancelled or drive the complete journey if Avanti cancelled.
Then hoping not too far up North if game called off.

Fuck this weather.

Just driven up into Scotland from the Lake District, passing Carlisle en route. Apart from the wind, the forecasted snow never happened. All roads are clear.

It's very localised.  Our village and all the hills around have had a good covering.  But Stirling, less than 10 miles away, has had nothing.

After all the fuss pre Barrow Garner is gonna be fuming if this is called off.

Can't see that happening unless Brunton Pk gets some wind damage

Couple of Mates just arrived no problems.
Another lad based in Carlisle said would be surprised if called off therefore just a case of getting there tomorrow.
Early check tomorrow as storm damage on Banbury station.
Few options but hoping it’s not another Barrow type drive at the last minute.

Just need the game on.

Safe travels to everyone that travels today.
Initial pre station arrival check the trains appear to be running. Fingers crossed that we make it and get back and of course the game is on.
Reports from Carlisle are good.

The unravelling of best laid plans yesterday put paid to any attempt to try again today.
Just too pricey to sort out new train tickets even with the refunds.

Hopefully no travails for anyone on their travels up to Carlisle today.

The team are going to need to grind out a result today.
