Could and maybe should have lost that. Tiredness or a lack of ideas, but we needed a big helping hand to get anything today. Don't think there was a standout performance, so we'll be rewarding steadiness or moments of brilliance today.

Payne for me, central to what we did well in attack and surprisingly at times in defence. Iandolo was really good for 60 minutes or so but tired, Conroy looked commanding again and Wollacott does all you expect of a keeper and more.

Payne for preventing pain, and for his overall play.

Wollacott made one great save in the first half that looked a certain goal. Probably my player of the season so far, 4 goals conceded from 6 games including 3 clean sheets is excellent. As a team we only kept 5 clean sheets (4 in the league) all season.

Defensively ok - Apart from selling Gladwin a dummy by telling him that he should leave it and let it go out.
Very poor going forward.

Payne for me followed by Jo Jo and crichlow.   Reed did some good work first half but didn't make himself available 2nd half leading to too much Williamsball

Woolacott.

I think many of us are starting to forget just what gash Town had between the sticks for nearly all of a forgettable last season (Travers/Woollacott/Camp aside).

Travers and Woollacott really were exempt from that as clearly JoJo didn't have time and Travers gladly (for his own sanity) wanted out of the shit show. Camp was probably the only steady keeper we had but it was an uphill struggle by March.

Anyway, in terms of today I think we're quite blessed with having a keeper who is pretty decent and will only get better. Becoming as consistent and legendary as Sir Wes imo.

Difficult. I thought the only ones I would criticise would be:

1. Gladwin - Better than of late, but doesn't look the player he once was. He's so ponderous and looks as if he is trying to do everything in slow motion.

2. Simpson - Didn't get into the game much. Doesn't read what his team mates are doing and was selfless when he should have been selfish. Also, with composure, he would have scored in the first half.

3. Iandolo - Thought he had a pretty good first half, but he was fading in the second half.

4. McKirdy - Kept trying the same trick, which didn't seem to be working.

5. Payne - Mostly good but gave the ball away quite a bit when dropping back to ay out of defence.

6. Odimayo - Final ball often went to noone or out of play.

I thought Wollacott was awesome again. Critchlow was very good. Hunt played much better today. Gilbert was very good when he came on as was JML. But, I think I would give it to Conroy today, who I thought was immense.

Reed. Looking like a very accomplished midfielder.

Payne has probably been the most consistent outfield player so far but just felt that he was a little off his usual game in terms of final ball and flicks that didn't work (same for Gladwin in that respect).
Best to just try and keep it simple and pass it quickly at this level.
