If roles were reversed we’d be saying the player got everything he deserved and it was only a push.

Nope, I'd have been very annoyed if one of our staff did that, only going to invite the FL to send us a fine.  It's all handbags but it's very unprofessional.  It would feel similar to when one of our players gets a needless red card to me, I'd probably shout something like "you silly sod"
