All a bit of a mess this. IOC seem to have forced it to go ahead when nobody really wants it to, least of all Japan, and now athletes seem to be testing positive and self-isolating all over the place. Rather takes away from the build-up to an event I usually really enjoy.

Fingers firmly crossed it all passes relatively hitch-free and we get some decent sport.

GB Women won in the football this morning though, which apparently starts before the opening ceremony.

Everyone was supposed to isolate before coming to Japan.  With training etc. and some countries/athletes not having much money i didn't see how this was possible when it was announced.  Now look what's happening,.

When you listed/read some of the interviews from the IOC, they had doubts but pressed forward to prevent cancelation.  They are also PISSED that there are not only ZERO fans, but ZERO corporate people there.

The Olympics without spectators at venues is all a bit pointless. It’s meant to be the pinnacle of most athletes careers where there are meant to have big crowds that they usually don’t get. The 100m final with no stadium buzz or no spectators supporting the long distance runners is just going to make it a bore fest.
