Interesting that Fitton contacted Morphoney to offer help and support and he didn’t even get a response. Says it all really about the people running the club

Yep, even if its just a polite no thankyou

Well when the rumours are he isn't even responding to offers for the club, he's hardly going to reply to that is he?

Apparently he sold it a week ago to someone or persons from Dubai and it’s getting announced next week also from the same source Caddis is going to be the new manager. I haven’t stopped laughing.

The Trust explained something similar, although not with regards to the covenant, but that they'd have to go back to the Council if the club wanted to build something like a hotel.

As with all legal documents, there will be ways of negotiating around it, but it's always been known that the land is not a simple rip and replace - otherwise it would have cost a lot more than we purchased it for.  In the past we had a betting shop in the Arkells, so there are clearly ways of being creative.  I'd presume the language ensures it relates to the primary tenant, a football club.

yeah exactly, you've got betting shops, food outlets and bars all part of the stadium already, so can't be that hard of a rule.

As an example, I'd imagine putting a Sports Direct in the footprint could work, but some palms may need greasing for a Tesco Express.

Playing devil's advocate a bit, but we don't know for sure that any firm offers have gone in, and if they have whether he definitely is ignoring them.

I mean I can quite believe it but...

If I was wanting to buy but being ignored I'd see that now is a good time to go public. Or is it?

The most likely thing for them to build there is still homes. The challenge is building these things for continued income, not a one of income that goes who knows where.

We could go all Monaco, have a building complex on site with the pitch on the roof.

It's all about the money or what's  left over when a football club folds.
Tax losses
Football ground sale
EFL Football license (dropped a couple of leagues)
Pissed off supporters

Perhaps we should take a good look at Bury and see what actually happened there.
On the surface it looks like Morfuni has the most to lose if the club goes under...but does he in reality ?

Suppose the only real way to find out is to wait and see.

I’m pretty sure it’s a done deal that when Digger announces a massive rebuild of the CG into a multi sport complex with shops, restaurants, hotel and casino the FA will welcome us to us Wembley for a season or two 😉
