It’d be a nice bit if symmetry if we could beat Barton’s old team and his new one in successive games.

Oh, for last season when I watched iFollow expecting a win every game - instead of now, expecting a defeat every game.

Joey Barton aside I will be very happy with an awful performance but a scrappy single goal win, we need points on the board.

That said if we play as we did away at Lincoln, Ipswich and as we did at Fleetwood we will easily beat them.

In the home game Rovers were easily the poorest opponents we have played this season, they were dire, even Northampton and Wigan were better than them, they lived up to their nickname of the gash.

Look at these lowlights from Saturday, shocking defending from crosses and acres of space at the back and a goalkeeper (standing in for suspended ex Town target Day) who looks like he can't be bothered.

Last week vs Charlton was a similar story. They got a very lucky penalty and a massive deflection on a 30 yarder to score their 2 goals. But their defence splits like Moses parting the Red Sea and the goalkeeper is miles from all the goals and gets sent off, we dodged a bullet there with Day.

Go with the same plan as Saturday.
Pitch looks pretty good, pack the team with the ball players and just go out and play.

Can't imagine that Rovers will allow as much space as Fleetwood did.
By all means go direct when necessary but not as the lazy option.
It will be a lottery if the game becomes very scrappy with no control from either side.
Just hope that bit of luck needed will go our way.

Slightly nervous. No game until a week Friday so hoping we leave it all out there tonight.

1-3 win.
