Thompson has gone downhill fast since Ipswich.. I don’t know if it’s the tactics or the players but seems to be always out of position, losing running players and making mistakes left right and centre..
Guess he really does not want to be here, as a loan player it is doing his potential career no good whatsoever. There must be a rule where we are not allowed to substitute players. |

The only quasi-tactics I can fathom are:
- lump it aimlessly in the direction of Pitman and play for second balls
- play into the corner for Garrick to chase
Both absolutely ineffective, and still he persists.

I think he is one of those players that looks good in a good side and proper shit in any other side. When the team controls the game he probably looks like he makes it tick, lots of little runs and short balls. As soon as that goes he becomes flustered, lost and a complete liability. |
