What preferred squad would you go for Saturday? Considering the "official" availability of squad...

I'm still thinking on a few.

Edit: 0755hrs Fri 29th Jan 2021

Had a think. Football is weird and none so much more than the Circus Berzerkus that is currently Town. I'm going all out, as far out as the right wing where if you squint long enough...you'll see Tyler Smith!

You. Could. Not. Make. It. Up...

Travers

Freeman          Masterson          Conroy          Thompson

Lyden

Twine                   Palmer

T.Smith                                                      Jaiyesimi

Hope

Think I've got a good idea how it'll go.

We'll put in a gutsy and brave performance away at one of the best teams in the league. Maybe we'll scrape something, a 2-2 or 3-3... or shock them with a win (unlikely, I know). I can envisage a 2-1 defeat with a "wow Swindon weren't that bad, how are they down there?". We'll all think... "OK that wasn't too bad, play like that and maybe this season won't be as big a shit show as we thought. Should beat Wigan playing like this".

Then on Tuesday, a 3-0 defeat.

I think we will lose by three goals, bright start and then the first defensive mistake in the 4th minute will se us 1-0 down, heads will drop and it will be a damage limitation exercise after that,  Football's greatest clown will then tell the waiting press after the game "I thought we were the better team until that fist, unfortunate goal!   You cannot give a team like that a goal and go one to win - but I was impressed by the way the lads tried after that!"

Some small relief in not being able to attend when we are not doing very well I guess.
However, would the preference still be the 06:19 out of Swindon tomorrow morning?
Too bloody right it would be.

A clash of dysfunctional club ownership in the former UK City of Culture.
Not been to their new place but can recall a couple of wins at the semi-derelict Boothferry Park.
The 3-2 in 89 and the 1-0 on a sunny August day in 1995 with a very good turnout.
Hopefully the unbeaten personal record can continue via iFollow.
Mauled by The Tigers or err pecked by The Robins, we shall see.

Town fans are aren’t exactly grinning themselves to death at the moment, but more than five might get over excited if we win tomorrow.

Easy to forget how good some bands were.
Anyway, we're not going back (to league 2).

My old man started going to games in 1952 right up until his death in 2010.

He always called it "The Swindon Way" and said it has always been like that.

I think we are in the record books for being the most inconsistant performers in back to back games in the Football League, something like a 5-0 win followed by a 6-0 defeat followed by a 4-0 win etc.

Some things never change, but it is the hope that gets you.

                     Palmer  Lyden  Hunt
