Yes. And apparently has the chairman’s 100% support.
Surely that's the kiss of death we've all been hoping for.

I don't really know the logic for keeping him here. The fact that we've signed a few players and they still need to get to become 'his team'? I feel like we have to pray to every deity there is that this works because I don't think Power will sack him.

The scary thing is even if Power does sack him, I don't trust that we'll get a decent replacement.

I don't see why we should necessarily believe a word of what he says. He could also just be very mistaken - he said himself he's not spoken to Power for a while.

Anyways.

My hunch is that ownership issues will be sorted sooner rather than later - and that Power doesn't want to get rid of him yet so that somebody else can pick up the bill for paying off Sheridan's contract.

The turning point for JS will be when he starts referring to himself in the 3rd person.
There will be no way back then.

It seems to me very much like a rehash of the Sir William Patey Paul Hart era at the end of Andrew Black's time, but over a protracted period.

I don't understand where all of this money is coming from to finance Travers, Thompson, Freeman, Omotoye, a possible midfielder and striker. (And also Palmer and Twine as Wigan and Newport will no longer be paying) But presumably a combination of Sheridan, Wright and Jewell want these players instead of what we already have at the club. Surely you don't go on a spending spree and then sack the manager?

Black/Patey didn't move Hart on until we were down. His objective was to keep us up for the next owners. We played defensive shit (very badly I might add) and created nothing.

Now replace Black/Patey with Power and Hart with Sheridan in the above para and you get where I fear we are now.

Sounds like a pretty plausible hunch to me.
