And like I said a week or so ago on another thread somewhere...

If the teams around us are as bad as they are but have had their strongest team available more often than not then we should be OK if our better players that have come back and those due to come back stay fit for a good amount of time.

I see it similar to FH.

I think we are just a couple of players away from being a solid L1 team, no one side have outplayed us for a whole 90 mins even though listening to some of our fans we have been played off the pitch consistantly in every game, even the ones we won.

Some teams we have played, Rochdale, Rovers, Oxford, Northampton, Shrewsbury and for much of the game Gills were as poor a team as we saw last season in L2.

If we tighten up that defence and stop making 1 or 2 defensive/goalkeeping mistakes every game we will be top half comfortably.

Our individual slip ups so far have probably cost us 15 point at least and with our players all returning to fitness hopefully that will stop and competition for places improves.

Anyway....

Here is a view of the upcoming game from the Dongs fans perspective.

my assessment based on what I've seen - relegation fodder.

not much up front. more holy than the Pope at the back

But things can and do change very quickly. I'm not writing us off yet

An Ode to Those Who've Seen it All Before

It's the hope that gets you, but we'll win.
90+6mins, maybe in off Tyler Smith's shin.
But it's the hope that gets you,
The hope that gets you.

January is still Winter. Sales are made via Odimayo.
Only to be replaced by someone from the Congo called Kasongo.
But it's the hope that gets you,
The hope that gets you.

It's the hope that gets you, when Town win two on the bounce.
Suddenly players leave - they've only gone and done a fucking flounce.
But it's the hope that gets you,
The hope that gets you.

Roll out of bed, dishevelled yet fresh on an icy morn.
To find out the news via the TEF; now full of scorn.
But it's the hope that gets you,
The hope that gets you.

Ohh it's the hope that gets you, sitting your ass on that cold flapback seat!
Kovar(ch?) saves divinely in his last game for Town. Like Banks, he is Godly. An incredible feat.
But it is the hope that gets you,
The hope. That gets you.

Relegation without a whimper. Such a waste of a good opportunity this season too.

Jonny Smith, Joel Grant and Lyden all close to play some part tomorrow.

All other injured players very close apart from Iandolo.

Won a match pass on the rewards app last week after the portsmouth game was postponed. Tried to redeem it for this game and the code is invalid. They are treating the portsmouth game as the next game even though it was postponed, rendering the code useless as it only lasts for a week and the portsmouth game hasnt even been rearranged. Useless

Sheridan lost his mum and dad over the Xmas period, I think he should be cut some slack over the lack of attendance at times:

Jeez that's awful. Think all but the most troglodytic of Town fans will be forgiving of a few missed press conferences in those circumstances.

can you at least buy the Portsmouth game now - so you have it ready for the rearranged fixture?

Think he lost his mum in late November but his Dad is more recent. It's only been more public knowledge recently (and the above from Waterford further confirms this) and I also know I have been a most damning critic at times. I won't be less damning in my opinion of the man's abilities (in post) but I do have a heart and can separate the man from the manager.

I recently had discussion with Andrew Hawes off the record but won't go into detail here. For context, it was AH who invited me to message him. I didn't seek out to DM the BBC Journalist.

JH is here to do a job but if time away is needed then it should be granted. In these circumstances, of course it's only right to wish condolences to JS and all directly connected with him. Any time of year is awful but Christmas always seems a little more so. Likely because in this ever speedily world, it is one of the few times of the year that we get chance to spend with or focus more on those that we love dearly x

I got a code for tonight's game that I won you can try if you like? it's now worthless to me as I already have access with my season ticket. Be better if you can use it when you like etc.
