They do say the table doesn't lie, but in Oxford's case its a little misleading due to games cancelled etc. I just had a look at their fixtures and out of their 12 league games they have only played 4 at home and have faced Pompey, Fleetwood, Posh, Charlton, Accrington and Lincoln all away which on paper are tough games.

Good for them.

But do you agree with the level of negativity? Do you think there's no possibility of us getting a result, as some on here would have you think?

To be honest I haven't really read back but I certainly think we have a good chance on Saturday. I think Sheridan will set us up to be solid and from what I've heard, Oxford have been as useless defensively as us.

I think a goalscoring draw seems most likely.

Don't forget the witches curse they have over us at the moment!

Completely agree. Wouldn't imagine they're very confident of getting anything out of this either and with our newly resilient defence Wink
We have only conceded 1 goal in the last 232 minutes!

Would take a draw.
Maybe I see a different game to you.
We have no cutting edge up front and a keeper that looks like he will concede with anything that comes into the area. Just realistic and desperate not to lose this one.
Hoping to feel more confident at 2pm Saturday with 2 additional players that have passed fitness tests.
If however we go into the game with the same line up Tuesday I think we will get beat which trust me hurts like crazy and will force me into hiding for a week.
You never know with football, however my nerves by tomorrow will start to feel edgy.
Already had a discussion with a Pox fan in the Company I work with this Morning that didn’t help.

You don't see it different to me. You're just missing the point.

We're playing crap right now. I get it. I've not said otherwise.

But so are the other teams around us. Oxford included.

Oh, and I think we'll lose 2-0. Our form has improved but we're still bottom of the league with away form.

The XG table has Oxford in 6th: https://experimental361.com/2020/11/25/expected-goals-table-league-1-24-nov-2020/

Which would suggest they are playing well but they must be either missing a bag of sitters or teams are scoring a lot of Scott Twine worldies against them

Edit: the table suggests its the latter. Based on the quality of the oppo's chances, they should have conceded 14 but have shipped 21

Incidentally the only team that has conceded even more than they should have done, than Oxford, is us. Which tallies given the two human sieves we have had in goal
