I think we would have won if Smith stayed on. Kovar had a shocker for the first goal but made some good saves after that. The dreadful errors at the back cost us. The first 3 were gifts for Plymouth who finished well. Plymouth are a bit like us - okay going forwards, suspect at the back. We defended well in the second half. I was surprised that Payne came off, thought he was doing well. Smith probably best player before red card. Need a win on Saturday to boost the finances. Will we get compensation for Wellens going?

Hunt:
- First ten minutes moments of madness, namechecked Grounds as having two errors, he's fronted up in the changing room
- Individual errors
- Came back into it, had chances to score again
- 11 v 11 was an even game
- Johnny getting sent off "doesn't help"

...and iFollow cuts off in the middle of the interview. FFS.

Often happens. Like it would fucking kill them to give us another ten minutes after the game.  Crash

Something had better go right between now and tomorrow morning...

If Wellens' wasn't buggering off, how much longer would it be before he started coming under real pressure if things carried on as they are?

Noel Hunt:
- First 10 minutes = moments of madness
- Caught on ball twice.
- Individual errors
- Came back well
- 11 v 11 we shaded it.
- Structured in our shape after first 10 mins
- Grounds has been great since he came in, but that 10 mins was bad.
- J Smith being sent off didnt help
- Had chances to nick a goal
- Free kick killed it
- Leggy at the end as they covered a lot of ground
- Smith knowns he was wrong. Dont know what he said
- Jack Payne taken off to protect him.
- Also wanted Stevens for pace and to replicate J Smith from first 1/2
- Tired near the end so gave away a few shots around the box
- In terms of effort cant fault any of them
- Managerial: Salford made contact and was rejected. Got in touch with a representative and given permission to talk
- Recovery day tomorrow and will prepare for saturday.
- Hunt will keep on until hes told otherwise
- Wellens as a man and friend has been good to Hunt
- Will have to see what happens
- Hunt would be interested in taking over. Need a serious think about it.
- Think we are going the right way. Created better chances in the first half
- What is the challenge until January? We have plenty of talent and good players. We will attack every game with the objective of winning
- We were good defensively against Hull. Take away mistakes tonight and we defended well until we tired at the end.
- Its about how we bounce back
- Couple of players hopefully coming back soon
- Full strength side at the weekend
- Baudry and Pitman back tonight. Will assess them for the weekend.

Thanks NMH. Looks like Hunt isn't going with Wellens then.

No. When asked if he wanted to take over from Wellens he immediately said 'Yes'. He then rolled back to say he would continue to prepare the team until told otherwise. He then went on to say that he would need to talk to the Chairman (and others) before making a decision. But there were a lot of positives.

So, from context, he would like the job.

Why would he want to? I'd too tire of looking at Wellens with his face like a redundancy letter on a wet Tuesday morning.

I am really struggling to see whether Pitman is finished or not.
Looking a really poor signing, whether fit or not just doesn’t compliment our style of football.
More movement on the magic Roundabout. Was always surprised by the signing and unfortunately just keeps making me feel I was right. I wish I could see something but I am struggling.

Maybe could do with someone to partner him. Hopefully Hunt being a former striker will have some sort of idea of how to get the best out of him moving forward.

Payne was on a yellow, that’s why he got hooked

I think that's right. Reminds me of Andy Mutch - Waddles around. Not so good without a partner (in this case Steve Bull). Would like to see him with T Smith. But, ideally, I think he suits partnering a big battering ram - We don't have one of those.

Quote from: Rapidflyer
Yes, he is gutted for letting the team & fans down.

He said to the Ref that he doesn't go down easily and the player caught him on the thigh, Ref said it was a shoulder charge and Jonny said Oh Feck off as a throwaway comment... and that was that... not taken in the vein of feck off to him...

there would be a lot of Sunday League teams down to 6 aside with that ref.

what's done is done. I'm taking the positives in a crappy day, he's looked really sharp in the last two games imo.
