that was a tighter match than the scoreline reflects imo.

we took our chances very well and o scored the vital forth that killed Burton

yet there is stuff to work on. 4-2 and they hit the post. enough said.

shame Baudry is injured again.

But DJ still to come back in, Tyler Smith unlucky not to play today. the attack is looking good but maybe a striker short

Absolutely, I see short glimpses but then he does something badly that should be fairly simple for a Man Utd player.

Hes young but he doesnt command his area and his shot stopping is not up to our level from what I have seen.

Yes he can get better, benda didn't look that good in his first few games though and he came on well so no writing off from me yet either.

Lyden is going to have a job getting back in the 1st team with Grant Nd Smith playing like that together.

7 goals in two home games for Town...The County Ground was far too easy for away teams to visit before last season with teams taking what they wanted without much effort. Thankfully that seems to have been well and truly sorted out.

We seem to have plenty of options going forward now when you think DJ wasnt even in the squad today.

Could be another fun season, maybe another successful one if we can sort out the leaks defensively.

Nice to see Pitman off the mark.

If you want a laugh at someone elses expense then have a read of this....

Last week Blackpool were champions in the making, this week relegation candidates.

Not impressed with Kovar at all so far. Nathan Baxter looked a bit better in my opinion.

I agree. I do hope that he improves as the BFG did last season, who was very good in all aspects of his game.

They are, quite literally, massive boots to fill though.

The critics should also have regard to the fact that this is a higher standard of lower league football.

Enjoyed that. The front three is very different to last year, but might be as effective. Pitman doesn’t have Doyle’s movement, but he is strong, and seems to still have the goalscoring instinct. His finish was very classy. Payne reminds me a (little) bit of Sammy Igoe when he drifted into the middle. Just a nuisance and uses the ball well. Stevens will be an asset and Jonny Smith will score and create. Things clearly have to improve at the back - but give Kovar time. I can’t disagree with the criticisms, but let’s not jump on the back of a 20 year old playing his first few games of professional football. I’m sure he’ll sharpen up with some help from Mildenhall and maybe some pressure from Joe Fryer (who I’ve not seen play). Next....!

Watching their first goal back, I think Kovar thinks it’s going wide. He’s not at full stretch, and is withdrawing his hands.

They are but all of a sudden he's now under the spotlight as the no1 goalkeeper playing for a league club and maybe feeling the pressure which brings on stress and lack of concentration similar to the Chelsea goalkeeper
