Aren’t there these Doughty rumours pretty much annual? I’m sure last year there were all these rumours that he was quitting football to concentrate on his business!!

Guess we’ll find out at 2 tomorrow if there is any credence to it. I’ve absolutely no reason not to believe PV at all as he’s not the kind of guy to spread these rumours without any backup but I’m not buying it. (More fool me!!)

Might improve our defending from set pieces though?

Just got Dale at 3/1.

Revised team if RW is telling the truth and worst-case scenario Doughty missing:

              Kovar
Caddis Grant Fryers Hunt
     M Smith Palmer
J Smith     DJ.      Payne
            T Smith

Revised prediction: 0-2

Wait, is Fryers not a doubt. I thought he was but possibly imagined it.

Thats quite a young/inexperienced central midfield there PP, hence the revised perdiction I suppose.

if Doughty really is not involved then I will go with this line up.

                  Kovar
Caddis    Odimayo    Fryers    Hunt
        Grant       Palmer
J Smith        DJ.          Payne
               Pitman

Apparently Pitman has a record of about a goal a game vs Rochdale, he scores every time he plays against them.

Odmiayo has a thogh/groind strain.

I don't know if the means he's not availabe.

According to Total Sport on Twitter, RW was very upbeat in the press conference this morning and in a totally different mood to Tuesday:

"Good press conference with Richie Wellens this morning, completely different attitude to Tuesday evening and seems hungry and commited to big things with STFC this season"

Everyone is assuming that Grant will slot in next to Fryers, but there is another centre back option available.....  Light Bulb  Tomato

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Depending on what RW decides to do with Grant (and if Doughty doesn't play), then yes the option does exist.
If Grant plays in defence then there is the risk of a potentially lightweight midfield being over run.
If he's in midfield then Curran *might* benefit from having the greater experience of Fryers alongside this time.

So Baudry & Fryers and Grant & Doughty it will be.

A “thogh/groind” is really serious.  No wonder he’s unlikely to “availabe”.

The old spell checker is clearly turned off! Wink
