Excellent. I'm pretty sad but I know every time that I saw a dog named Bert, I would always go "Hey Bert". And yes, it would be grating but no I would not care Smiley

I’m not best pleased with the club’s decision to only offer a mail order service so close to the start of the season, IMO they should have opened the club shop by now, or at least offered a click and collect service for those who can’t abide their neighbours.
Who really cares? More important things to worry about than opening the club shop to cater for 4 or 5 people a day with nothing better do. It's not like opening it is going to see thousands rush to visit!

If this is what we're complaining about, then things must be going smoothly.

My Dad taught at Moredon School, where Ernie Hunt had been a pupil.  When Ernie was transferred to Coventry City, a school trip was organised - Ernie would give a guided tour round Coventry’s ground, and then we all had seats in the Directors’ Box to watch the game (can’t remember who the opposition was).  Ernie capped our day off nicely by getting sent off!  Ah, memories!!

Great memories for you Geoff.  I played for a Borough League side against STFC under- eighteen team in about 1958 I suppose. We were thrashed of course but highly honoured!  Did you ref in that period or a bit later?  I played for Sanford YC in the Wiltshire League in 1963, and we were runners-up to Bemerton.

I would imagine there would be a few more than 5 customers in a day, I am sure there are quite a lot of fans who would be in to buy shirts and sort out season tickets etc, and there is always 'more important things to worry about' in both football and in life, but this does mean that life does not go on and that people cannot voice an opinion.

You have voiced your opinion. Theakston disagreed and voiced his. That's how a forum works mate.

The staff have been furloughed for god knows how long so have months of catching up to do including probably restocking the shop. They are probably still on restricted hours/part time and any opening of the club shop would have to bring in more income than it costs to open (remember there would need COVID risk assessments, changes made etc) so for a few people whats the point? If you can buy it online then whats the problem?  Alternatively I'm sure people can live without some merch for a little while longer.
As for your little tantrum at the end, I don't think you've figured out how a forum works. You don't open a thread about something and then restrict all your posts about any topic to that thread...

To be honest anyone with the username 'STFCNo1Fan' comes across as a bit of twat and you aren't doing much to reduce that opinion. Do you actually believe you are the number 1 fan?

You’re about 15 years ahead of me, Normy!  My reffing days were mid ‘70s. Seems like a lifetime ago - I suppose it is!
