Wes Foderingham & Jerry Yates.
DJ worth a punt.
Plus re sign Doyle & Grant.

How much game time has Charlie been getting at WBA?!

To be fair Charles Reece-Cook would likely be an improvement on Reice Charles-Cook  Wink

He was so bad he can't even get his name in the right order.

I see Matty Taylor has been released and could be a good signing if Oxford go up and don't want him

He was so bad he can't even get his name in the right order.

Putting the footy to one side, I did feel sorry for him at times because he really was a confidence kind of guy. Possibly far too much hand holding needed for a keeper. They have got to have a slightly different mental strength compared to the outfield squad. Where you can get away with being a passenger from time to time. Weird dynamic for keepers, they are part of a team yet an individual at the same time.

I think the best keepers tend to have a better relationship with their defenders (esp. CBs) and vice versa. If there's little understanding between the three (or two) it can be a disastrous combination that causes a keeper to often retract further from the team dynamic.

Either that or they are an absolute unique, like Barthez. He'd have taken a carafe of wine onto the pitch with him if he could get away with it. Crazy keeper.

How much game time has Charlie been getting at WBA?!

About £40k per week's worth, if not more...

Foderingham has been Rangers 3rd choice keeper and hasn’t played above L1 in his career. How many clubs do you think he has queuing up trying to sign him? I’m making the assumption it would be very few.

All others played for us this season so hardly fantasy.

Austin was purely a random thought as to whether his career is now on the decline and he’ll filter back down the leagues, kinda like Simon Cox did...

You'd still think Austin would want an upper L1 team at least if he did start to drop down the leagues.

Oh, wait...

Having said that, he's only just turned 30. You'd think he'd want another season or two in the Championship at least before he starts dropping down.

My post was largely a reference to Austin.  That said I think that Foderingham is also an unlikely signing.

Stuck around a season too long once McGregor forced him to the bench

30 is still prime age for a GK, might be lucky and get a champ club but league 1 is more realistic, his stock will be low having warmed the bench for 2 seasons

Our gas boiler fitter a couple of months back is one of Charlies best mates and he told me that Bournemouth have made contact with his agent about a move there.

If the 'muff are relegated I could see it happening, I doubt even with his injury history he would come down to L1 yet.

The problem with him coming into L1 would be the impending wage cap, what club can afford a large wage being paid to a very often injured player? in the Championship thats not so much but in L1 where he would be a huge earner there is no club that would take that risk unless it was a pay as you play deal.

Btw DV, I actually considered Fods when I heard he was released. Stranger things have happened but as Berni says and if anywhere at the moment, it could be QPR. A season later and him coming back here could've been a real possibility. Would be some signing for us in L1 if it did happen but he's worth of Championship I think.
