Mobile Wifi Router

Anyone have any experience with these? With not being able to see the grandparents I was looking at getting one so that I could give them my iPad for face timing the family.

the iPad is wifi only and they have no internet. A backup would be to buy an unlimited data sim card and a new tablet.

I use one in my flat, and it’s absolutely fine for streaming etc, and for FaceTime.
You can get one with Vodafone on a 30 day rolling contract for about £25 a month.

Thanks, what kind of data bundle does that get you?

It will be an interesting experience getting a 89 yr old set up on a tablet for the first time but will be such a massive boost if she could see us regularly.

Quite a few providers give you unlimited data for around £20-£25 pm (non contract just rolling SIM). I think

Also I think BT allows you unlimited access to their Wi-Fi networks for around £15 pm. As I'm aware you can just connect to their open network "BTWiFi" or "BTWiFiFon", register an account and choose the 12month package. I can't vouch for how good it is for streaming or FT but since OpenReach is the main subsidy of BT, I would imagine their open networks are fairly decent.

The WiFi names listed above are ones I've seen pop up on my laptop from time to time when I've been out and about etc.
