Saw The Damned at Bar 12, they were great. Saw the Vibrators in the Vic. I sat and had a drink with them.

Can't understand why no one has mentioned the Wurzels yet.

Saw the Wurzels at the Bath & West Show in the mid '70s. I've got to be honest and say it hasn't stayed with me as one of my most memorable evenings!

They would be in my list of bottom 5 live bands ever, miming and playing to backing click tracks is not what I want when I go to see a band, most of the crowd were pissed on cider though and didn't care if they mimed or sang live. They did this in the 4 occassions I have seen them too.

Queen at Milton Keynes Bowl in 1982 were probably the best. The rest in no particular order, Liam Gallagher Finsbury park 2018, Stone Roses Wembley 2017, Dire straits Bath & West showground 1985 & Slade at Goldiggers in about 1982. Special mentions for Johnny Marr a couple years back in Bath & surprisingly Keane about 10 years ago at Motorpoint in Cardiff. Exceptionally good live.

It's hard to believe that the Wurzels, a band loved by the critics, who received plaudits from around the world, are met with derision on this site. Five breathtakingly good albums, with the same songs on each one!

I saw them about 5 years ago. Didn’t realise there were so many of them. All crying, too.

Ha ha hardly, they supported my band on 2 of those occassions and we spoke about them miming, the other 2 I was at Butlins for the music weekenders.

Their recorded music is actually not bad, but I don't want to hear them mime to a recorded version, I wanted live, I didn't get live, they stopped performing live when their sons started doing their stage producing. They state its too difficult at their age to do the whole lot.

Down here in Somerset though they are absolute heroes to so many and they won't have a bad word said against them.

No its even the young lads, mostly farmers that adore them, here in Chard there is a fan club to them and most are under 35, I am not a member.

Of course, the current incarnation is very similar to Trigger's broom.
