We have recently got into Californian red Zinfandels, excellent with steak. Very similar to Malbecs if a little smoother on the palate.

I’ve been to California but don’t remember too much of the wines over there. Never really bothered with yank wines or even Zinfandel. I’ll need to broaden my horizons a little PV, thanks for the tips!

We found it in Miller & Carter a few months back, normally we have a Malbec but TBH this is even more to our tastes, softer and smoother and great with red meat or even to drink on its own.

Not that many out there but our Tesco (when it has some alcohol) stocks one called Carnivor. Worth a go.

Is anyone drinking more alcohol than usual or is it just me?

I am drinking about the same but thats partly due to lack of availability down here. I drink no more than 3 or 4 pints in a week normally at most.

I have a beer order coming from Belgium on Monday though so that could change next week!

1 week down 11 to go......

For me the worst thing is not being able to pop out for another 11 weeks to the local shop to pick up anything that we don't have, the wife too is on shielding too.

With the cupboards having enough food to last just about til the nest Asda delivery we have enough basics but if we fancied anything different at all we can't pop out and get it.

As for not seeing anyone else for the next 11 weeks thats fucking easy, I am part hermit anyway!

Less for me. Hardly touching a drop. Just don’t fancy it.

Drinking is a pub activity not a home one for me.

Don’t really see the point at home, especially as I couldn’t be arsed getting off the sofa every 5 mins once the seal is broken

Same here.  I'm off alcohol & caffeine.  Both give me mood swings which I can do without at the moment.  And I sleep better as well.

Blended Australian brand. 19 Crimes. The Uprising, is my choice from their little range. Will decant for a few hours only.
