I went to primary and secondary school with Jason.  He is indeed on 992.  Nearly missed one due to the Newport game ticket debacle but to keep the run going sorted out a table in hospitality.

Looks like the home game against Cheltenham will be 100 for him.  Impressed that the family have let him do it.

Astonishing achievement.  If you assume an average of 50 games/year, I'm guessing the 992 game run would have started around 2000...and those years were not happy ones for the club.  True dedication!

Always difficult with family commitments and where you live.
This will be my third season (hopefully) doing every game and my 16 year old lad is on for it this season and only missed one last season, Crewe away.
Not missed a home game for 10 seasons now and on 1650 games without a divorce.
120 mile found trip is tough but the Oxon Reds on Tour flag always travels and takes its place at the back of the DR stand with pride.
Derek is a decent bloke who I have known for years.

Well done. Let's hope he makes 1,000. Is this just competitive matches? Does the boycott cup count in its various guises?

Let's hope the scaremongering doesn't force games behind closed doors. If it does then let him be a ballperson!

5-0 to Town today to avenge the reverse score in Paul Hunt's testimonial match in 2002.

Yeah I know he had to go as corporate in the end due to lack of ticketing.

Derek Elston has now done every 1st team game home and away since 1980 a run of well over 2,000 and Rob Hartley every game since 1985 a run of over 1,800.

1,000 is also an amazing acheivement.

We have some very dedicated fans through so many shit years of football.

Not much chance of showing on Points brizzle as they would rather show a re run of the glory days.
It was shown all over the BBC West region.

Not sure why but I'm not confident.  By every reasonable measurement this is a nailed on win for us.
