I still think there is some damage they are worried about.

Yeah, to Caddis so better to call it off  Pint

Anyone who has been out in it knows this is the right decision, nothing canny about it - the game would have been a farce.

I like Wellens response to the question about do you feel sorry for Stephen Benda who's family have flown over for the game - "auf wiedersehen Pet, better find a flight and get back home"  Brilliant, love the dour manc sense of humour..

you can't call a game off because it would be a farce. not at 2pm.

if the ball doesn't roll out the stand is falling apart fair enough.

Poor to call it off this late in the day. Every single weather forecast/app I’ve looked at has said we’ll get exactly this weather for days now.
Indeed. Not sure what changed between 11/12 and 2 that it couldn't have been called off earlier, save people travelling

There will be a valid reason it was called off so late, they haven’t just done this because they have only just noticed its a bit breezy

Probably. So one would assume that can only be structural damage to the stadium as theaskton suggests?

I think the rain starting around 1pm has added to the decision tbh..

It's not like nobody on here has turned up at a ground only for it to be called off..  personally I can remember Walsall and Colchester.

Ahh come on Berni it's only just about a Gale. High wind at best. The game wouldn't have been best but not really a farce. There have been many a game played in worse.

The safety element obviously concerns the ground fixtures/fittings but if Town needed an excuse to call it off then today would be the best disguise. I feel as other have said, this forecast has been consistently tracked and forecast. Very rare a "Michael Fish" happens these days, so they could've called it off this a.m

When you play in a purpose built wind tunnel, this is always likely.
