Perhaps he’s actually a Crewe player moaning at being on the bench.

I sat close to the away supporters bit when we played Franchise in that Easter top of the table debacle - not much wood in sight that day, I can tell you!

Wasn't the away allocation where the green seats were when the Arkells looked at its most crappy until they put all red seats in?

(I might have imagined this?)
I may be wrong but weren't some of the coloured seats just painted red when Fitton did it so wouldn't be surprised if some still have wooden backs or seats.

The Arkells has never had wooden seats they have always been plastic as far as I remember, they certainly have been since I first sat up there in 1974.

Looks like wood to me.... Well backs anyway.

As I thought looks like they have just been painted red.

Well their crap either way so can see why they are moaning. Uncomfortable with peeling paint is pretty poor.

The backs are made of the same plastic as the seats and just painted.

Second review down. Hmmm

https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g187049-d7053245-r475986765-The_County_Ground-Swindon_Wiltshire_England.html

Sat in the Arkells once in the mid 90's in the bit with yellow seats and pretty sure they were wooden.
I could be wrong but do remember it being bloody uncomfortable!

Nothing conclusive here, but good to scroll through anyway.

I used to have a season ticket in the seats that were removed by the away fans. I'm sure they were wooden in the 90's.
