I'm not too up on all the songs these days. I do like the Doyle ones however, while I don't like the Isgrove ditty. It doesn't sound like a football chant to me, maybe it's the lack of energy.

Out of all the songs I've heard us sing, I think the 'left side over here' has to be the most pointless piece of shit I've heard.
Not sure on a favourite. The puerile side of me loves that we chant 'fuck off', where everyone else chants their clubs name. That can't be my favourite though, so I'm hoping someone will trigger my memory.

Any suggestions?

To be honest we just sing the same songs as everyone else most of the time and I dislike most of them. Can't beat the classic COYR's though, and the Ginger Pele one is good but also not original at all.

Only unique song I think we have is the 1969 one.

Some of the old Brighton and Gillingham songs were amusing, probably not acceptable this PC day and age.  Smiley

This.

Although back in the mid 80s we had "the dinkle song" which was totally unique and brilliant.

Otherwise its all a rehash of other teams songs.

Likewise,   don't like the Isgrove  song,  some of the better ones have to be 'Celery', 'in 1969' and definitely current number one has to be 'Ginger Pele'.

Same tunes maybe, but there must be quite a few where the words have changed to make them significantly different? Surely no one else ever sang about turning their opponent's ground in to a public lavatory? Or am I completely wrong?

No, you are correct,  their ground is definitely a lavatory.

Celery was fun but "borrowed" from Chelsea fans prior to us singing it.

Does a running commentary on games, yet doesn't give us the lyrics to "the dinkle song"!  Wink

My memory fades me a little with age but some of the bits I remember....

Swindon boys gonna sing you a song
We all got dinkles 1 foot long
We're the boys who love a fight
Especially in Oxford on a Saturday night

Adi Elsworth laying in the bath
Playing with his dinkle having a larf
Gave a cry and shot his load
He almost burst the overflow

There was Ollie laying in his bed
Playing with his dinkle the ends all red
We all see the size of Ollies dong
It was 2 feet wide and 6 feet long

Stabber lets his dinkle dangle
Got it caught in a kitchen mangle
its almost the same as Ollies dong
Except its six feet wide and 2 foot long

Oxford girls keep their legs shut tight
But they open to the boys in the red and white
We know their used to a smaller size
So the Oxford girls get a big surprise

there were at least another 3 verses but I cannot remember them now, summut about trouble in the townend etc and policemen....
Bear in mind this was 1984/5 so my memory fails me a bit, first sung at the Swindon v Scunthorpe 0-0 game in thick fog in 1984 and then sung through the promotion winning season the year after.

The one I don't understand is the ' so and so is a shithole I  want to go home' why sing about it,  if you don't like it,  just fuck off home !!.

'Small town in....' gets used when it makes no sense too!

Never heard that one,  fair play for remembering that many verses, don't think I'd ever remember that lot, let alone sing it.

Usually used just to wind people up,     I.e. fans singing to us .......  Small Town in Oxford etc.   Now that would wind us up.
